Job Description Job Title:
Library/Learning Commons Assistant Position Summary Edward Waters University is seeking a motivated, dedicated individual to join our staff as a Learning Commons Assistant (LCA) . The Learning Commons Assistant will support the day-to-day operations of the Library/Learning Commons, assist with circulation services and programming, and provide exceptional customer service and support to students, faculty, and staff. Key Responsibilities Provide support for the services and functions of the Library/Learning Commons service desk, including reserves, circulation, scheduling, and related services. Provide excellent customer service and assistance to students, faculty, and staff. Schedule appointments with tutors, writing consultants, small groups, study rooms, library research services, and peer assistance. Check out and reserve equipment and other resources. Locate textbooks and other course reserves using the library catalog. Maintain accurate records of attendance, usage, and other Library/Learning Commons activities. Assist with Library/Learning Commons programming and activities. Support the circulation process and assist with related administrative tasks. Maintain a clean, organized, welcoming, and functional Library/Learning Commons environment. Qualifications Associate degree or higher preferred. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent customer service. A passion for helping others and contributing to the university community. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a team. Basic computer literacy and comfort using technology tools commonly used in libraries and learning environments. Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures, systems, and technologies. Ability to maintain accurate records and handle information appropriately. Work Schedule Flexible schedule based on the operating hours of the Library/Learning Commons. Evening and/or weekend hours may be required based on operational needs.
