Job Description
Job Summary The Library Assistant reports to the Director of the Frank & Laura Lewis Library. Primary responsibilities include acquiring, receiving and processing supplies, books, and equipment; and maintaining vendor and acquisition records. The selected candidate will work Sunday- Thursday, 2pm-11pm. Job Duties Responsible for opening and closing library on scheduled evenings and weekends Answers routine directional and information questions by phone or in person; and refers to librarian as needed for the purpose of helping customers Assists users in locating desired materials and refers them to appropriate resources for specialized requests for the purpose of meeting their needs Checks library materials in and out for the purpose of controlling the inventory Reads shelves on a regular basis for the purpose of keeping materials in correct order Shelves library materials for the purpose of maintaining access to the collection Acts as backup for technology support and reservation setup Minimum Qualifications Associate's degree or equivalent. 1 year related experience, preferably in a library, museum, or archives.
