Job Description

Education Requirements:
In order to apply for this position, you must be a current Harper College student and enrolled in at least 6 credits per semester.
Experience Requirements:
Ideal candidates should have the following characteristics and competencies: Ability to multi-task. Ability to work well under pressure. Team player. Detail oriented. Outgoing. Basic keyboarding/data entry skills. Customer service experience is a plus.
Schedule Information:
Will determine schedule based on student's availability. Must have some availability to work during the following hours:
Sunday:
1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Monday:
8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Tuesday:
8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Wednesday:
8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Thursday:
8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Friday:
8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Saturday:
9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Job Duties:
Shelves library materials according to the Library of Congress Classification System. Maintains stacks and ensures public service areas are in order. Responsible for maintaining study rooms. Checks library materials and technology in and out. Sorts and organizes library material and technology returns. Assists with front desk coverage. Provides information to patrons in person, by telephone, and makes necessary referrals; assists patrons as needed. Troubleshoots fax machines, printers, computers, print stations, and book-scanning stations. Assists with outreach tables and programming. Performs other duties as assigned.
