Two Student WorkersPOSITION SUMMARY
The Evening Supervisor manages library operations during assigned evening hours, supervises student employees, provides high-quality customer service, assists students and other library users with research and library resources, and helps maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming learning environment. The position supports the mission of Benedictine College by ensuring effective access to library services and resources.WORK SCHEDULE
This position covers evening library operations on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The college may fill these hours with one employee working all four evenings or with two employees each working two evenings per week.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Oversee evening library operations during assigned shifts. Supervise and provide direction to approximately two student workers. Manage circulation desk activities, including checkouts, returns, reserves, and patron assistance. Assist library users in locating print and electronic resources using the online catalog, databases, and other research tools. Facilitate access to library collections, equipment, and services. Monitor study spaces, classrooms, and public areas to maintain an appropriate learning environment. Ensure compliance with library policies and procedures. Respond appropriately to emergencies, disruptive behavior, facility concerns, and safety issues. Perform other duties as assigned.Requirements:
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Competency Statement(s) Customer-service oriented, friendly, accurate, organized, ability to work both collaboratively and independently, detail-oriented Education Associate degree or higher in a related field preferred. Relevant library or customer service experience may be considered in lieu of some educational requirements. Experience One year of library, academic support, or customer service experience preferred. Previous experience supervising employees or student workers is preferred. Experience with integrated library systems and online library resources is desirable.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
