Job Description

Overview Schedule:
Part-time, 20-25 hours per week. (Position is for year-round employment) Must be able to work a minimum of a 4 hour shift on days scheduled. Must be able to work Mondays until 7pm Must be able to work until 6pm on other days as scheduled. MUST be able to work a minimum of 2 Saturday shifts per month (9am-2:30pm) Must be creative & enjoy planning & hosting events for Adults and general audiences Working past 7pm may be required on nights programs are offered at library.
Requirements Include:
High school diploma or equivalent Basic computer proficiency Ability to work independently and as part of a team Creativity Ability to lift and move materials up to 20 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods to shelve books.
Responsibilities include but limited to:
Customer service- Assist people of all ages with library services & technology Assisting with the circulation desk (checking books in/out, issuing library cards). Organizing and re-shelving library materials accurately. Using computer systems for basic tasks and assisting patrons with technology (computers, printers, etc.). Helping with Library Events/Programming Clerical duties Produce visually appealing materials for programs Provide & promote information regarding programs, events, meeting rooms, etc Ability to identify, prioritize & complete work needs Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff members and work collaboratively with others to achieve organizational goals and objectives Seasonal book displays, bulletin boards, decorating library for holidays/seasons Interlibrary loans duties Processing & Cataloging materials Actively market library services and programs to Young Adults, Adults and Seniors in the community! Paid time off Application Question(s): Position requires you to work a minimum of 2 Saturdays a month (9am-2:30pm) Can you work at least 2 Saturdays a month? This is a part time position, 19-25 hours per week. Ideal candidates must be available to work year round a minimum of 4 hours per shift on days scheduled, but most shifts will be longer shifts. It has some flexibility on days worked. Based on the library hours of operation. What is your availability? Library is open Mondays 9:30-7pm (September-May) & Mondays 9:30-6pm (June-August) Tuesdays 9:30-6pm Wednesdays 9:30-6pm Thursdays 9:30-6pm Fridays 9:30-5pm Saturdays 9-2:30pm
