University Library Responsibility / Duty Load electronic resources into the library's catalog system as they are purchased. Performs copy cataloging and assists with other aspects of technical services. Performs basic collection management duties such as preparation, repair, and deaccessioning materials. Act as a service contact for equipment, tools, and software for the maintenance of digital collections, such as printers and scanners. Participate in annual reporting by collecting and sharing statistical and other data as instructed. Maintain administrative account information and documentation for vendors and electronic resources. Performs library acquisitions duties as necessary including placing orders, contacting vendors, receiving orders, handling invoices, inputting and editing new records for items on order.
Percentage Of Time:
50 Responsibility / Duty Acts as a LOUIS System Administrator Backup and perform all duties that come with the title Assists library patrons with computer and online resource related issues; assist library staff with computer hardware and software issues; involve campus IT as needed Assists the Head of Access Services in maintaining the library's laptop lending program by monitoring device inventory, troubleshooting issues, and using fleet management software to track and remotely secure devices as necessary. Assists Information Technology Technical Support Analyst with annual inventory report.
Percentage Of Time:
35 Responsibility / Duty Assists with promoting Affordable Learning, facilitates e-textbook adoptions from the library's collection, and collects data for campus adoptions. Complete special project work as assigned including record enhancement, clean up, or reclassification.
Percentage Of Time:
10 Responsibility / Duty Serves as backup for the public services area of circulation and keeps current with the policies and procedures of this area. Participates in library committees and may participate in university committees and/or national and regional professional organizations as appropriate. Assumes other responsibilities as required.
Percentage Of Time:
5 Minimum Experience Required Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university, or at least four years of extensive library experience. Extensive experience with spreadsheets. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Minimum Education Required A baccalaureate degree. Preferred Experience Library technical services experience (Experience with using OCLC and Alma) Experience collecting and compiling data. Experience in an academic setting.
