Shifts:
Tuesday, 5 pm to 9 pm, and Wednesday, 9 pm to 1 am
General Statement of Duties:
Perform customer service and clerical duties necessary for the effective operation of the Access Services unit, as well as shelving and shelf-reading to maintain good order of the stacks.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide quality customer service to library patrons. 2. Charge and discharge materials using the automated circulation system. 3. Shelve library materials and assist with stack maintenance. 4. Retrieve materials from the collection as needed 5. Complete assignments and projects as directed by Access Services staff. 6. Provide patrons with accurate information related to library services and general policies. 7. Help patrons navigate the library and locate resources in the stacks. 8. Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
1. Must be dependable. 2. Must be accurate. 3. Ability to work without constant supervision. 4. Ability to handle personal information with extreme confidentiality. 5. Must be comfortable interacting with students, faculty, and members of the community. 6. Some computer skills required.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience working in a library or customer service environment. 2. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Apps.
