$22.00 per Hour Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Library Assistant to support the daily operations of our Library Services team. This role is responsible for maintaining library collections, processing and filing library materials, handling shipments, and assisting employees in locating and accessing resources. The ideal candidate is organized, customer-focused, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Shelve, organize, and maintain library materials according to Library of Congress (LC) classification standards and retention guidelines. File and update loose-leaf materials, pocket parts, advance sheets, and supplements. Receive, unpack, sort, and distribute books and library materials throughout the facility. Shift, reorganize, and relocate library collections as needed to ensure accuracy and accessibility. Assist employees in locating library resources and materials. Maintain collection accuracy and organization. Provide exceptional customer service and support special projects as assigned. Qualifications Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree required. Library Science coursework or related field preferred. One to two years of customer service experience preferred. Previous library experience is a plus. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of Thomson Reuters/West products preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel. Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities. Physical Requirements Ability to push and maneuver heavy book carts. Ability to lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to safely use ladders while retrieving, shelving, and organizing library materials. Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout library and office locations for extended periods. Why Join Us?
