Library Assistant Job Description Library Assistant Cass County Public Library Part-Time | Non-Exempt Position Overview Cass County Public Library is seeking a friendly and dependable Library Assistant to support daily branch operations and provide excellent customer service to patrons. Responsibilities include circulation services, assisting patrons with accounts and technology, shelving materials, supporting programs, and helping maintain a welcoming library environment. Evening and weekend shifts may be required. Key Responsibilities Patron & Circulation Services Assist patrons with check-in/check-out, holds, accounts, and library questions Provide basic technology assistance and support public computers and printers Process interlibrary loan requests and maintain accurate records Branch Support Shelve and organize library materials Assist with displays, programs, and branch activities Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment Perform additional duties as assigned Qualifications Customer service or library experience preferred Strong communication and organizational skills Basic computer and technology skills required Ability to work independently and as part of a team Physical Requirements Ability to stand, bend, and move throughout the day Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and push carts up to 100 lbs. Combination of days and evenings plus rotating Saturdays
