The position requires the ability to provide excellent customer service in a professional and reliable manner. Library clerks perform basic library duties including providing circulation and reference services to library visitors and shelving materials. 15-18 hours per week.

Weekly schedule:

Tuesday 3pm- 7pm, Thursday 3pm-7pm, Friday 10 am - 5 pm and alternating Saturdays (1 or 2 per month) from 10am-1pm. Additional hours as needed for coverage. Must be available to work a flexible schedule. Must be available to work a 12 month year including summer and school holidays. Applicants must have a high school diploma, strong customer service skills, computer skills, and the physical ability to lift and carry books. Resident of Putnam County, Southern Dutchess County or Northern Westchester County, NY preferred. Bonus points if you are already on the Putnam County Clerk Civil Service List.
