POSITION SUMMARY:
The Programs Assistant assists with the daily operations of the Programs & Events Department and provides customer service to internal and external customers.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Serves as the department's point of contact for requests for support from internal and external customers and promptly meets their needs. Refers requests to the appropriate staff members as necessary. Participates in Library events and outreach as needed. Schedules, maintains, and distributes programming supplies and equipment to Library agencies. Assists the Programs & Events Manager in developing and updating content for internal and external communications. Helps to ensure programming content posted internally and externally is consistent with the department's philosophy and guiding documents. Assists the Programs & Events Manager with the department's program planning and assists with coordinating the day-to-day details of programs and services for the department. Assists with preparing reports for the agency, including collecting and preparing departmental statistics as needed. Creates support materials for programming equipment. Perform general administrative duties as directed. Supports and advances the Library's mission of connecting people with the world of ideas and information. Embraces and embodies the Library's core beliefs, strategic priorities, and pillars of excellence. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Skill in customer service. Ability to coordinate and support system-wide programming. Ability to work independently and with coworkers in a wide variety of situations with minimal supervision. Ability to use all technology applicable to the essential functions of the job and commonly used by the Library.

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
