High School diploma or equivalency, preferred two years of post-secondary training. Must meet No Child Left Behind standards (i.e., Associate Degree from an accredited institution of higher education or completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education ( defined as 48 semester or 72 quarter hours as verified by college transcript from an accredited institution of higher education ), or meet a rigorous standard of quality and demonstrate, through a formal State or local academic assessment (Para Pro) â€" knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing and mathematics or knowledge of, and the ability to assist in readiness for reading, writing, and mathematics.Demonstrated effective communication skills:
oral and written. Must possess the ability to interact in a pleasant manner at all times. Demonstrated planning and organizational skills. Demonstrated competency with library automation system. Demonstrated competency with state-of-the-art equipment/skills, including data processing, etc. Preferred software knowledge usage is Word and Excel. Ability to work with building literacy activities. Ability to team with others.
