Responsibilities:

• Assist library patrons with locating and checking out books, materials, and resources, issuing, renewing, and updating library cards, and answering the telephone.
• Shelving and shelf-reading collections
• Opening or closing the library as required, evening and weekend shifts are required
• Perform other clerical duties
• Support library staff in various administrative tasks as needed

Experience:

• Previous experience working in a library or customer service role is preferred
• Familiarity with integrated library systems (ILS) and computerized catalog systems is preferred

Hours:

• 1-3 weekday evenings per week, 5pm-8pm (no Fridays); 1-2 Saturdays a month, 9am-5pm, is required The Library Aide plays a crucial role in providing excellent customer service to library patrons.
