Job Description

Physical Requirements:
The job often involves periods of standing, with intermittent periods of stooping, reaching, and walking. May be required to lift or move objects such as book carts, boxes of books, and equipment weighing up to 30 pounds.
Availability:
Saturday and after-school (4-7) availability preferred. Ability to report to Meadville Public Library, located at 848 N Main St, is required. This position requires Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History Clearance, Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) Criminal History Clearance.
Position Description:
Position is responsible for performing circulation and public service functions. This often includes checking in and shelving books, assisting with crafts and programs, and assisting library users in navigating the library.
Reports To :
Circulation Manager Major Duties:
Ensure that the library space is clean and organized and that all resources and materials are on display, well-promoted, and available. Maintains organization of book shelves while shelving returned materials. Assist with reader questions and checking library materials in and out for patrons. Assist with inventorying the library collection. Help prepare public programs for teens and other ages as needed. Performs other related duties and special projects as assigned.
