Job Description

Job Title Library Assistant I Organization Name Libraries Department Maximum Salary 26.72 Detailed Description The St. Petersburg Library System is seeking candidates for multiple part-time Library Assistant I positions. Library Assistant I positions are front-line public service positions, responsible for providing excellent library service and friendly customer service to staff and patrons of all ages, including but not limited to: circulation and reference services; technology assistance; and cash handling. Successful candidates may be scheduled to work at library locations around the city and will be scheduled to work evenings.
Salary:
$18.64 - $26.72
Hourly Close Date:
10-16-2026 (11:59 PM) To Qualify Minimum Qualifications.
Applicants must:
  • Possess a high school diploma or GED equivalency.
  • Be able to travel between library facilities as needed.
  • Have previous experience working with the public and providing customer service.
  • Be familiar with technology across a variety of formats and devices.
Desirable Qualifications.
Preferred applicants:
  • Be skilled in technology.
  • Have good written and verbal communication skills.
