Job Description

Do you enjoy being proactive, having variety in your day-to-day schedule, and supporting others? the North Dakota State Library is hiring a Library Technician to assist departments throughout the library in their vital tasks. Your attention to detail, dependabilty, and adaptability will actively contribute to the success of the North Dakota State Library as we strive to strengthen and enhance ND libraries, connect people to reliable resources, and ignite lifelong learning. What You'll Do You will support the mission of the North Dakota State Library by: Assisting digitization efforts by scanning items in the physical collection Performing OCR (Optical Character Recognition) correction of scanned items Transcribing items for the Digital Horizons project Providing support for State Documents cataloging Participating in outreach for the State Library's Talking Books program, including preparing items for targeted mailings Providing occasional backup for the Patron Services Division What You Will Bring (Minimum Qualifications) We are looking for someone who is adaptable, detail-oriented, and self-starting. You value accuracy, communicate clearly, and enjoy variety in your day-to-day work.
You will have:
Foundational technology skills Comfort working in multiple systems and learning new technology Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and proactively seek out projects Ability to read cursive handwriting To be considered for this position, you must have a high school diploma or GED. In this role, you will assist the growth of NDSL's digitization program, expanding access to a variety of historic documents, as well as assist in a variety of library duties in service of our mission.
Compensation and Location Work Style:
Hybrid; can telecommute up to two days per week after successful completion of probationary period
Shift:
Monday - Friday, flexible scheduling available between the hours of 7:00am - 5:00pm
Hiring Salary:
