Responsibilities Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description. 1. Provides patron service in assigned area such as answering questions via phone, email, or in person. 2. Checks various materials in and out of library. 3. Assists patrons with use of online library catalog, as well as finding items on the library shelves. 4. Collects money and produces receipts for fines and materials. 5. Produces spine labels for library materials. 6. Enters new arrivals and denotes the status of various items into the library's automated system. 7. Assist with archiving and cataloging. 8. Performs area related clerical duties such as filing, typing, shelving and reorganizing new and old books, as well as general cleaning of assigned area. Minimum Qualifications Six months clerical or customer service experience required or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required. Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description. Preferences Current or former music student. Degree in music.
