Job Summary Job Summary Grade Level Leads for grades TK, K, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7/8 for ELA, and 7/8 for Math. Grade Level Leads - Mathematics Curriculum Implementation This school year, Grade Level Leads will support the implementation of our new mathematics curriculum by facilitating collaborative learning and curriculum work with their grade level or department. Grade Level Leads will facilitate six meetings throughout the school year and participate in training with the Director of Curriculum & Instruction to prepare them to lead this work. Applicants must be available to attend the following mandatory trainings outside of the duty day: October 19 | 3:30-5:00 PM | Smith River Elementary January 11 | 3:30-5:00 PM | Location TBD There may be one additional 1-2 hour training scheduled during the school year. Grade Level Leads will facilitate their teams in: Critically examining the new mathematics curriculum using the Green, Red, Yellow process Developing a shared understanding of the Standards for Mathematical Practice (SMPs) and their impact on mathematics instruction and student learning Completing a standards card-sorting activity to deepen understanding of grade-level standards and instructional priorities If you participated in the P3CC mathematics work, this will build upon the learning and processes you have already experienced. Prior participation in P3CC is not required. Leads who have not participated will receive the training and resources necessary to successfully facilitate this work with their grade level or department.
