This position focuses on teaching elementary-aged students in a small-group setting and helping them build strong foundational math skills, confidence, and problem-solving ability. We are especially interested in candidates who enjoy making math approachable, interactive, and enjoyable for young learners. Experience with Singapore Math is highly desirable (but not mandatory). Responsibilities Teach engaging math lessons for elementary-aged students Reinforce foundational skills such as number sense, arithmetic, place value, fractions, measurement, and problem-solving Help students understand the reasoning behind mathematical concepts rather than relying only on memorization Use hands-on, visual, and interactive teaching strategies Adjust instruction based on students' ages and ability levels Follow Maestro Stars curriculum and lesson materials when provided Prepare or adapt activities as needed Maintain a positive, organized, and supportive classroom environment Encourage student participation and confidence Communicate professionally with Maestro Stars staff Maintain a consistent weekly teaching schedule Qualifications Experience teaching or tutoring elementary-aged children Strong understanding of elementary mathematics Ability to explain math concepts clearly and in multiple ways Comfortable managing a small group of students Patient, dependable, organized, and enthusiastic about working with children Previous teaching, tutoring, after-school, camp, or enrichment experience preferred Singapore Math Experience Highly Desirable Candidates with experience using Singapore Math or Singapore Math-based curricula are especially encouraged to apply.
