9-12 Position Overview ELITE Public Schools is seeking a passionate, mission-driven High School Mathematics Teacher for the 2027-2028 school year. ELITE serves a vibrant and diverse student population, with strong representation of Black and Brown students. We are seeking an educator who understands the importance of culturally responsive teaching, maintains high expectations for every student, and is committed to creating an inclusive classroom where students feel respected, represented, supported, and capable of succeeding in mathematics. The ideal candidate will inspire students to recognize the relevance of mathematics in their everyday lives while helping them develop strong foundations in algebra, geometry, statistics, pre-calculus, and mathematical reasoning. At ELITE, we are committed to developing future leaders who are confident learners, critical thinkers, and effective problem-solvers. Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality, standards-aligned mathematics instruction to students in grades 9-12 Teach courses that may include Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Statistics, and Pre-Calculus Develop engaging and rigorous lessons that promote mathematical reasoning and real-world application Use culturally responsive instructional practices that affirm students' identities, experiences, and communities Maintain high academic expectations while providing students with the support needed to succeed Use assessment data to monitor student progress and adjust instruction to meet individual learning needs Provide appropriate intervention, differentiation, and enrichment Establish a positive classroom culture grounded in ELITE's core values of Respect, Responsibility, Resilience, and Relationships Build meaningful relationships with students and create an environment where all students feel valued and supported Collaborate with teachers, instructional coaches, support staff, and school leaders to advance student achievement Communicate regularly with students and families regarding academic progress, successes, and areas of concern Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and schoolwide activities Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university Must hold an active Clear California Single Subject Teaching Credential in Mathematics issued by and publicly verifiable through the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) Credential must be active when employment begins and maintained throughout employment Appropriate English Learner authorization Knowledge of California Mathematics Standards and effective secondary instructional practices Ability to provide equitable and culturally responsive instruction Strong classroom-management, communication, and organizational skills Demonstrated commitment to educational equity and belief in the potential of every student Genuine commitment to serving and supporting a diverse population of Black and Brown students Credential Requirement This position specifically requires a Clear California Single Subject Teaching Credential in Mathematics. Intern, intern-eligible, preliminary, emergency permit, waiver, and pending-credential candidates will not be considered. ELITE Public Schools will verify each applicant's credential through the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
