Learning Specialist

A leading independent school in Miami Beach seeks a candidate with teaching experience and a related degree to serve as a Learning Specialist. The Learning Specialist must be able to work with both elementary and middle school students. We are seeking a person who is either specialized in Reading/Language Arts or Mathematics. The Learning Specialist who is spealized in math must be able to teach up to Algebra II. They will work with small enrichment and remediation groups, support teachers in student needs, and assist in assessing student needs. The school has small class sizes with a 1:15 class ratio and opportunities for professional development and growth. Great working conditions with excellent compensation and benefits. The teacher will engage a variety of instructional approaches to match the skill(s) being taught as well as to maintain student interest (e.g., hands-on instruction, direct instruction, computer-assisted instruction, interdisciplinary instruction, etc.). Administrative support is provided.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Master's degree in the field and certification preferred. 2. Minimum five years of teaching experience. 3. Successful completion of Florida Department of Law Enforcement background screening. 4. Ability to differentiate classroom instruction based on student abilities. 5. Ability to effectively communicate student progress to parents. 6.
