Part-Time Mathematics Teacher - Algebra I & Algebra II Position Overview Lubavitch Educational Center is seeking a qualified and dedicated part-time Mathematics Teacher to teach Algebra I and Algebra II to high school students. The ideal candidate will have strong mathematical content knowledge, effective classroom management skills, and a commitment to creating a rigorous, supportive, and engaging learning environment within an Orthodox Jewish day school. Responsibilities Teach Algebra I and Algebra II classes according to the school's curriculum and academic expectations. Plan and deliver clear, structured, and engaging mathematics lessons. Develop students' conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and mathematical problem-solving skills. Provide appropriate differentiation and support for students with varying levels of mathematical ability. Assess student learning through classwork, homework, quizzes, tests, and other appropriate assessments. Maintain accurate and timely records of grades and student progress. Provide timely feedback to students and communicate concerns regarding student progress to the appropriate administrator. Establish and maintain a positive, respectful, and productive classroom environment. Collaborate with colleagues and administration to support student achievement and ensure alignment with school-wide expectations. Incorporate active learning, questioning, discussion, and problem-solving opportunities rather than relying exclusively on lecture-based instruction. Maintain high academic expectations while providing appropriate support and encouragement. Participate in required faculty meetings, professional development, and departmental collaboration as applicable to a part-time position. Uphold the values, standards, and culture of an Orthodox Jewish educational environment. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field preferred. Strong knowledge of Algebra I and Algebra II content. Experience teaching adolescents in a middle or high school setting preferred. Ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly and in multiple ways. Strong classroom management and interpersonal skills. Ability to differentiate instruction and meet the needs of diverse learners. Commitment to maintaining a professional, respectful, and values-based classroom environment. Professional Expectations The Mathematics Teacher is expected to: Be prepared and punctual for all assigned classes. Maintain a professional relationship with students, parents, and colleagues. Communicate proactively with administration regarding academic or behavioral concerns. Maintain appropriate classroom routines, expectations, and documentation. Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to collaborate as part of the school community. Serve as a positive role model for students and uphold the standards of the school. Schedule Part-time position teaching Algebra I and Algebra II. Specific teaching days and periods will be determined based on the school's master schedule and the candidate's availability.
