Junior High (6-8th Grade) Math Teacher Peoria, IL Job Details Full-time From $50,172 a year 5 days ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Tuition reimbursement Vision insurance Qualifications Writing skills Teaching Certification Professional Educator License Full Job Description Pleasant Hill Elementary is a neighborhood-based PK-8th grade school, seeking a passionate and qualified teacher for 6th-8th grade Junior High Mathematics . The teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in alignment with Illinois math standards. This role requires a dynamic educator who can engage middle school learners with meaningful experiences, build foundational skills, and identify and differentiate instruction mathematics. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging lesson plans for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade math courses, including Pre-Algebra and Algebra I (current curriculum -- Illustrative Mathematics) Differentiate instruction to support diverse learning styles and academic needs. Assess student learning through formative and summative assessments, using data to guide instruction. Provide student tiered interventions in small groups as collaborated with your grade-level team. Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth. Collaborate with fellow teachers, administrators, and parents to support student learning and development. Participate in staff meetings, professional development, Professional Learning Communities (school-based and Limestone Area-based), and school community events.
Qualifications Education :
Aligned B.A. in Education or higher
Certification :
Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)with certification in 6th-8th grade math; consideration given for Illinois STS licensure (would follow an alternative salary, please inquire )
Experience :
Two years+ of teaching experience preferred
Skills :
Strong classroom management and organizational skills with ages 10-14, ability to differentiate instruction for a variety of learning styles, excellent verbal and written communication skills, collaborative team player with a positive attitude, proficiency in using technology with students
