Johnson Academies is seeking a passionate and dedicated Intermediate Teacher (Grades 3-5) to inspire and educate students during a critical stage of academic and developmental growth. This dynamic role focuses on building strong foundations in literacy, mathematics, and critical thinking , while fostering independence, problem-solving, and effective communication skills. The ideal candidate brings energy, creativity, and a commitment to rigorous, standards-aligned instruction , while supporting the diverse academic and language needs of all scholars, including multilingual learners. Key ResponsibilitiesInstruction & Planning Develop and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lesson plans in literacy, math, science, and social studies Implement high-quality curriculum, including Eureka Math² Use a structured I Do → We Do → You Do instructional model Design lessons that emphasize problem-solving, writing, and evidence-based reasoning (CER) Student Learning & Assessment Assess student progress using formative and summative assessments, including preparation for ILEARN Analyze data to inform instruction and provide targeted interventions Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and progress Technology & Engagement Utilize learning technology tools to enhance instruction and create interactive learning experiences Integrate digital resources to support diverse learning styles and increase engagement Language & Inclusive Practices Integrate academic language development using the SIOP Model Support diverse learners, including students with IEPs, multilingual learners, and those requiring additional intervention Differentiate instruction to meet a wide range of academic needs Classroom Environment Establish and maintain a structured, positive, and academically focused classroom culture Implement effective behavior management strategies that promote accountability and independence Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment Collaboration & Communication Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, lesson planning, and school-wide initiatives Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and classroom expectations Participate in professional development and coaching cycles Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field Valid Indiana teaching license for grades 3-5 (or ability to obtain) Proven classroom experience in elementary grades Strong knowledge of literacy instruction, math concepts, and child development
