Nantucket High School has an anticipated opening for [1] Mathematics teacher to join our caring and innovative community for the 2026-2027 school year. Our ideal candidate is committed to differentiating instruction, keeping student voice at the center of instruction, and developing a classroom learning environment centered on inquiry. You will be an integral part of our departmental team as we create challenging and inspiring teaching and learning experiences for all students.Minimum Requirements:
- Knowledge of Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks (Mathematics)
- Bachelor's Degree
- DESE MA certification or the ability to be certified in Mathematics (8-12)
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience in high school math teaching
- Passion for teaching math
- Strong Math content knowledge
- Strong knowledge of the Standards for Mathematical Practice
- Knowledge about High School pedagogy and the developmental needs of students
- Ability to assess learning using a variety of methods
- Strong foundation in student-centered and culturally responsive pedagogy
- Knowledge of differentiated instruction and response to intervention
- Excellent classroom management skills
- SEI endorsement
- Ability to collaborate with teachers and administrators
