6 th Grade Classroom Teacher with Math Emphasis

QUALIFICATIONS

• Valid Michigan Elementary Teaching Certification required with emphasis in Math
• Bachelor's degree (or higher) from an accredited College or University
• Knowledge of Eureka Math Squared Curriculum preferred
• AIMSweb training desired
• Criminal background check including fingerprinting required

RESPONSIBILITIES

• To provide students with age-appropriate learning activities and experiences in the core academic subject areas.
• To help students reach their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.
• Nurture comprehensive development of all children using a broad repertoire of instructional strategies that honors varied learning styles.
• Communicate appropriately and effectively with students, parents, and other staff both in writing and verbally.
• Demonstrate a willingness to be highly engaged in continued professional development.
• Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly, productive classroom environment.
• Participate as part of a work team and work effectively with colleagues.
• Adhere to all building and district policies regarding attendance, business procedures, safety, professionalism, and personal appearance.
• Maintain student records, student achievement, and attendance using district-approved technology.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Other duties as assigned by the building principal.
