Job Description
POSITION TITLE
6 th Grade Classroom Teacher with Math EmphasisQUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Michigan Elementary Teaching Certification required with emphasis in Math
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) from an accredited College or University
- Knowledge of Eureka Math Squared Curriculum preferred
- AIMSweb training desired
- Criminal background check including fingerprinting required
RESPONSIBILITIES
- To provide students with age-appropriate learning activities and experiences in the core academic subject areas.
- To help students reach their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.
- Nurture comprehensive development of all children using a broad repertoire of instructional strategies that honors varied learning styles.
- Communicate appropriately and effectively with students, parents, and other staff both in writing and verbally.
- Demonstrate a willingness to be highly engaged in continued professional development.
- Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly, productive classroom environment.
- Participate as part of a work team and work effectively with colleagues.
- Adhere to all building and district policies regarding attendance, business procedures, safety, professionalism, and personal appearance.
- Maintain student records, student achievement, and attendance using district-approved technology.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Other duties as assigned by the building principal.
