Job Description:
This employee in this role will offer knowledge of learning strategies and the ability to assist students in all stages of the learning process. The position helps maintain the Academic Success area and creates tutoring sessions and materials designed to bolster students' skills and confidence. This person also helps the Academic Success Center grow by developing and delivering workshops and group tutoring sessions that serve students.Salary Range:
$21.89•30.58Minimum Qualifications:
Associate or higher degree in Math AND 1 academic year of teaching/tutoring experience in a math discipline at the High School level or above OR An equivalent combination of education and work experience.Preferred Qualification:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Math or Computer Science Strong background and knowledge of math Ability to present teaching material to students in the Academic Success Center and assist students in understanding the concepts in an independent manner. Communication skills sufficient to effectively explain concepts and procedures to students so that they are easily understood. Ability to present material in both one-on-one and group settings. Ability to develop and present workshops for students and/or faculty on topics of need. Ability to evaluate student learning and suggest revisions to lab procedures to facilitate learning. Ability to review Academic Success Center processes and recommend revisions. Other Requirements Work Shift (Hours / Days of work): This position works on a full time basis during the academic year (August-May), and is off during the summer months. Working hours are generally 8:00 a.m.•4:30 p.m. and will include one shift per week working 9:30 a.m•6:00 p.m.Telework:
