Position Overview We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Math Specialist to join our team at South middle school for the 26-27 school year. The ideal candidate will be committed to academic excellence and student growth, bring creativity to their instruction, and foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment. The role of the math interventionist is to support teachers and students in implementing effective instructional practices aligned with New Jersey standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mathematics education, instructional coaching, and a passion for supporting educators in their professional growth. This position involves teaching entails teaching one class and pushing into classrooms to provide additional support. Key Responsibilities Strong organizational skills Understanding of curriculum development, differentiation of instruction, use of formative and summative assessment data to drive instruction and effective use of technology in a blended classroom Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively electronically, orally, and in writing Ability to work effectively with adult learners modeling excellent interpersonal skills for working with teachers, administration, and staff Ability to provide professional development to groups of teachers and administrators Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, publishing, effective use of learning management systems and Google applications Reliability, responsibility, independence, self-motivation, ability to maintain one's own schedule and calendar Relationships/Trust Build, reflect on, and strengthen coaching relationships. Build trust with teachers and administrators and maintain confidentiality. Demonstrate empathy and compassion.
