Job Description
Job Overview:
Children of Grace Christian Academy (COGCA) is a Christ-centered religious non-profit 501(c)3 homeschool education enrichment and community service program. We are looking for elementary and middle school educators that truly have a love for teaching that is nurturing without coddling, supporting without shaming, and meeting a learner where they are on their academic journey. We do not teach to test, we teach to thrive. COGCA prides itself on educator-to-learner ratios where development of core academic competency is paired with Biblically-based principles according to the life and work of Jesus Christ. We view the teaching of morality, love, respect, kindness, forgiveness, and compassion to be just as important as academic achievements. COGCA educators also offer fun life skill development "enrichment" classes, determined by our learners' collective requests and customized to meet our educators' talents and hobbies, such as but not limited to gardening, wood working, theater, dance, martial arts, mechanics, and the like. Each child attends COGCA with a subject-based textbook or workbook matched to their peers for educator-led group learning with the option for an additional individualized homeschool curriculum scaled to his/her level and ability. We operate on a Tuesday-Friday schedule where education continues at home with parents and caregivers on Mondays. - formally educate learners 1st-8th in both group and individualized math lessons
- Lead mathematics activities in both a group (shared curriculum) and individual (independent curriculum) modality
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Assess learners' progress and provide feedback
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the educational experience
- Stay updated on educational best practices and trends
- Participate in professional development opportunities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in education or related field
- Teaching certification or license preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Prior educating experience is a plus Children of Grace is a one of a kind program that places emphasis on community service and child centered learning all with a heart posture that reflects the goodness of Jesus.
Pay:
$25.00- $36.
