Who We Are:
The Springfield City School District, home to The John Legend Theatre, is seeking a 4th Grade Math and Science Teacher at Snyder Park Elementary School for the 2026-27 school year. We are a nationally ranked Division I District serving approximately 7,500 Pre-K through grade 12 students, in a vibrant learning community of 17 state of the art buildings in west-central Ohio. Our academic and extracurricular aim is to ensure social and emotional learning growth for students with a wealth of opportunity, including a 1:1 initiative and the YouMedia Center, which is a digital learning lab offering students activities such as 3-D printing, graphic design, and videography. We are Wildcats! As a Teacher you are required to: Current licensure issued by the Ohio Department of Education Be flexible in your work schedule and be willing to attend/participate in professional development sessions Be willing to serve on teams Have the ability to relate to and teach students with diverse backgrounds Demonstrate enthusiasm in your role As a Teacher you will: Developing lesson plans and instructional materials and providing individualized and small group instruction to meet the needs of each student. Use multiple approaches to instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students Engages in active, hands-on creative and innovative approaches to help students learn how to improve their skills Identifies and builds on Student strengths Embraces, supports, and follows all District enacted programming in the areas of academic, behavioral and emotional support Facilitates ongoing assessments to determine the starting point for instruction, monitors instructional needs and evaluates student progress Evaluates, grades, and assesses student work Maintains class records and record/report grades/progress at the end of the term Provides instruction to students with varying capabilities and needs with attention to SEL support Engages in active and innovative approaches to student learning Assists students in the development of responsible behaviors Implements an effective program of instruction reflective of the Ohio Department of Education Interacts with paraprofessionals, nurses, mental health specialists, and/or counselors to provide a safe and student-centered environment Assists students in the development of responsible behaviors and positive work ethic Engages in collaborative planning with colleagues, supporting building and District-level programs Communicates with parents and caregivers to address student/classroom issue Maintains a professional demeanor, exemplifying responsible leadership as model for students Manages all situations in a positive and professional manner Performs other duties as assigned
What We Offer:
As a contracted employee, Intervention Specialist work 183 days per year and 7.25 hours per day. Starting salary is in accordance with the negotiated agreement, increases with experience and education. Contracted employees receive competitive benefits. All employees receive professional development The Springfield Education Association and the Board of Education are currently working on a new professional agreement. While that is in the works, please refer to the current agreement as to pay and benefits that are in place for the 2025-26 school year.
