Principal and Superintendent Position Overview Village Christian School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate 7th-12th Grade Mathematics Teacher to join our school community. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of mathematics and effective instructional practices while recognizing that teaching at Village Christian School involves much more than delivering academic content . Our students come from a variety of educational, behavioral, and life circumstances and often benefit from structure, consistency, patience, encouragement, and strong relationships with their teachers. The successful candidate will be able to create a structured and supportive classroom where students feel safe, respected, challenged, and capable of experiencing academic success. The teacher will work closely with administration, intervention staff, counselors, and other members of the school team to support each student's academic, behavioral, social, and personal growth. Minimum Qualifications Valid Ohio teaching license with a 7-12 Mathematics endorsement Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field Successful completion of required Ohio and/or FBI background checks Compliance with applicable state and school health requirements Demonstrated ability to build positive, professional relationships with students and colleagues Ability to maintain appropriate classroom structure, expectations, and boundaries Commitment to the mission and Christian values of Village Christian School Preferred Qualifications and Competencies The ideal candidate will demonstrate: Strong knowledge of mathematics and effective mathematics instructional practices Ability to differentiate instruction for students with varying academic abilities and learning needs Understanding of or willingness to learn about

accommodations, and individualized student support Effective classroom management skills, particularly in an alternative or therapeutic educational setting Ability to establish clear expectations while maintaining a positive and encouraging classroom environment Strong relationship-building skills with adolescents Excellent written and verbal communication skills Flexibility, patience, creativity, and a willingness to adapt instruction to individual student needs Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary school team Professionalism, reliability, and a commitment to continuous personal and professional growth A genuine desire to help students recognize their strengths and develop confidence as learners Key Responsibilities The Mathematics Teacher will: Plan and deliver engaging mathematics instruction aligned with Ohio Learning Standards Teach mathematics courses appropriate for students in grades 7-12 based on student schedules and academic needs Differentiate instruction and provide appropriate supports for students with diverse academic abilities and learning needs Develop clear daily and long-term lesson plans and maintain appropriate instructional pacing Establish and maintain a structured, consistent, and supportive classroom environment Use formative and summative assessment to monitor student understanding and guide instruction Maintain accurate grades, attendance, and student progress records Monitor student academic progress and communicate concerns and successes to the appropriate members of the school team Implement accommodations and instructional supports identified in student IEPs and other educational plans Provide additional academic support and intervention when appropriate Encourage students to develop responsibility, perseverance, problem-solving skills, and confidence in mathematics Build positive relationships with students while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries Reinforce school expectations, behavioral standards, and restorative/therapeutic practices Collaborate with the Intervention Specialist, Title I staff, counselors, administration, and other teachers to support student success Participate in staff meetings, professional development, school activities, and other school-wide initiatives Support the overall mission and Christian character development of Village Christian School Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when working with student and family information What Makes This Position Different Teaching at Village Christian School provides an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students who may have experienced significant educational and personal challenges.
