We are hiring one person to be the spine of our test prep program, teaching the classes, knowing every student in them, and steadily taking ownership of how the program runs. This is a full-time, year-round position with a defined path into leading our teaching team. What you'll do Teach SAT Reading & Writing and SAT Math to small groups and one-on-one, grades 9-12. Diagnose from practice-test data — know why a student missed a question, not just that they did. Build and refine lesson sequences, problem sets, and drills for both sections. Run timed practice tests and deliver score-report debriefs students actually understand. Own a caseload of students from enrollment through test day. Write clear progress feedback for students and parents — and have the harder conversation when a score plan isn't working. Coordinate enrollment, scheduling, attendance, make-up sessions, and student records. Be the person a family emails when they're anxious about a test date. Build the program Shape class structure — how we group students, sequence topics, and pace a course. Sit in on other instructors' classes, share what's working, and help set the quality bar. Over your first year, grow into owning curriculum and mentoring our other test-prep teachers. What you need Four or more years teaching high school level test prep Real command of SAT content in at least one section, and genuine working capability in the other. Tell us which is your strong section. Willingness to own administrative work. Available on-site in Cupertino for teaching blocks, including some afternoons, evenings, and weekends in peak test seasons. Flexible work from home options available.
