Category Schools - General Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic high school environment as a General Education Culinary Arts Teacher. This contract opportunity focuses on guiding students through hands-on culinary experiences while supporting foundational math skills in the classroom. Conveniently located within an hour of Columbia and just 30 minutes from Orangeburg, this school offers a welcoming setting designed for you to share your passion for teaching and culinary education.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Valid secondary math certification is required for this role. Previous experience teaching general education at the high school level is preferred. A background or strong interest in culinary arts, hospitality, or related fields is highly valued. Excellent classroom management and communication skills. Ability to create engaging lesson plans that connect culinary concepts with mathematical applications. Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and engage with the school community.
Responsibilities:
Deliver creative and inspiring culinary arts lessons to high school students, incorporating relevant math concepts. Develop and implement curriculum aligned with state and school standards for both culinary and general education math. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel empowered to explore and learn. Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support to ensure individual growth. Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and families to enhance the learning experience. Maintain equipment, supplies, and a safe classroom environment.
