About Us:
Freedom Preparatory Academy Charter Schools (www.freedomprep.org) is a network of PreK-12 free public charter schools serving students in Memphis, TN, and Birmingham, AL. Our mission is to prepare all students in grades PreK-12 to excel in college and in life. Since our founding in 2009, we have grown from a class of 96 sixth grade students to now serving over 1950 students across multiple campuses. In 2024, we expanded into Birmingham, AL, starting with grades K-1, with plans to grow to a K-5 campus. POSITION OVERVIEW
The Intervention Teacher oversees and manages small group instruction across grade levels with direct intervention support services. We are looking for a compassionate Math Academic Interventionist to assist our teachers with classroom lessons, activities, organization, and management, as well as assisting students specifically with Math instruction. The responsibilities include assisting the teacher with teaching new concepts or translating information for students to understand better, supervising students, and providing students with a positive, nurturing guide. The Academic Interventionist will work with students, parents, staff, and the community in a professional manner, and follow and uphold school rules and standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach and coordinate Tier 2 & 3 intervention for target students Facilitate the management and interpretation of data necessary to develop, implement and evaluate Tier 1, 2 & 3 interventions Communicate and collaborate professionally with teammates, parents, and community members to assist in coordination of intervention services for target students Provide non-evaluative classroom observation and feedback, modeling, and other supportive assistance necessary related to the implementation of the RTI process Analyze informal and formal student assessment results to measure students' growth towards goals and to monitor students mastery of the content standards Maintain high expectations for students academic achievement and conduct Results-driven educational leader with a commitment to standards-based curriculum and the use of data and assessments to drive instructional decisions Value and draw upon students' experiences and backgrounds Utilize a variety of instructional strategies based on the diverse needs of all the students that engage all students. QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree strongly preferred Strong computer skills including Google Suite & Microsoft Office Willingness and dedication to providing support to teachers and students. Results-oriented individual - a flexible thinker willing to do "whatever it takes" Keen attention to detail and a strong work ethic motivated by a goal of consistent excellence 3 or more years of full-time teaching experience Valid Tennessee teaching license and endorsement(s) in Mathematics We are excited that you are inspired or called to learn more about our mission, values, and potential opportunities.
