The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching various subjects, particularly in mathematics and science, and will be committed to fostering a positive learning environment for students. This role requires effective classroom management, curriculum development, and the ability to engage students through innovative teaching methods. Duties Develop and implement lesson plans that align with state standards and cater to diverse learning styles. Teach subjects including Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Microbiology, Genetics, and Molecular Biology. Utilize learning technology and instructional design to enhance student engagement and understanding. Conduct assessments and standardized testing to evaluate student progress and provide feedback. Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a conducive learning environment. Mentor students academically and personally, providing guidance on educational pathways. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and educational initiatives. Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices. Skills Strong knowledge of mathematics (Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus) and science (Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Genetics). Experience in curriculum development and lesson planning tailored for high school students. Proficiency in classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with students, parents, and colleagues. Familiarity with learning technologies that enhance teaching effectiveness. Experience working with students in various settings including private schools or special education environments is a plus. Ability to conduct scientific research and laboratory experience related to biology or chemistry is beneficial. Strong proofreading skills for reviewing educational materials and assessments. Background in higher education teaching or academic advising is advantageous.
