Summary Faculty at Southwest Baptist University serve as content experts in their field and fulfill the mission through faith integration in the academic setting. Physical therapy faculty members teach 18 graduate course credits for a 9-month appointment which allows time for teaching, mentoring of students, development of self and profession, clinical competence, participation in program accreditation, curriculum evaluation, service to the University, research and other scholarly activity. Faculty members establish work procedures and priorities within imposed deadlines and departmental goals. Faculty teach courses as assigned by the division head and the college dean and abide by the responsibilities as defined in the Faculty Handbook.

Supervisory Responsibility:

None Position Requirements Required Earned academic doctoral level education degree (i.e. PhD or equivalent) Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Program Experience or advanced education in areas of teaching responsibilities Licensed in Physical Therapy or eligible for licensure in Missouri Knowledge of curriculum and teaching area. Work Environment Position related tasks may involve a possible or unplanned exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials. Work is performed in a general office environment with some noise.

Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

Visual:

Ability to visually inspect, prepare, and analyze data and figures. Perform tasks related to accounting, transcription, computer terminals, extensive reading, and operation of machines.
