Job Description
Hastings College is seeking a full-time, tenure track Mathematics faculty member to begin in August 2027. Rank is open (tenure or non-tenure) and will be contingent upon the selected candidate's educational background, teaching experience, and scholarly achievements, subject to final determination by the Vice President for Academic Affairs. While the area of emphasis is open, the ability to teach Data Analytics is preferred. Experience in providing leadership for curriculum development and interdepartmental collaboration will be strongly considered.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field is required; PhD preferred but will also consider Master's degree candidates with relevant industry, technical, or applied professional background.Responsibilities:
Teach a variety of mathematics courses to departmental majors, other majors, and in the general education curriculum. Instruct within the block schedule, utilizing 8-week terms to facilitate focused, immersive learning. Serve as an academic advisor to students. Contribute to departmental and institutional initiatives.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will hold a Maters degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field; PhD is preferred. Demonstrated teaching experience is required, either concurrent to, or following graduate studies. The ability to work well as a member of a department and campus community at liberal arts college is essential.
