The primary responsibility of this 9 month position is to provide effective instruction in the subject area, helping to fulfill the College's goal of providing a quality education for all students attending CTC. This job teaches courses to high school dual credit students. A Master's Degree from an accredited institution of higher education with 18 graduate hours in Speech required. Three years of teaching experience at the post-secondary or secondary level in an appropriate academic discipline is preferred. Possess a demonstrated knowledge in the subject matter being taught. Effective classroom management and student engagement skills Be able to teach the subject matter effectively and communicate clearly with students. Communicate regularly with students regarding course expectations, progress, and resources. Teaches assigned classes using syllabi, tests, and textbooks approved by the department in accordance with established professional practices in the teaching area. Grades, evaluates, and monitors student progress and keeps accurate records for all classes taught. Maintains designated number of office hours and counsels, advises, and guides students in matters related to the class and on related academic issues. Assists the Department Chair in evaluating, updating, and improving departmental policies, practices, syllabi, materials, and equipment. Maintains professional skills and subject expertise through continual involvement in professional development activities. Executes any other duties assigned by the Department Chair.
