Work Schedule Adjunct faculty positions are appointed on a course-by-course, semester basis as needed. Responsibilities include teaching developmental and/or college-level courses, which may include distance-learning courses during the day and evening, on weekdays and weekends. Primarily face-to-face with the possibility of remote instruction. Our scenic campus is located in Albemarle County, Virginia. We are one of 23 community colleges in Virginia that comprise the Virginia Community College System (VCCS). Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) is a public, comprehensive community college. As part of the 23 college Virginia Community College System, PVCC serves the city of Charlottesville and the six adjacent counties. PVCC is nationally recognized for its outstanding transfer curriculum; its relationship with its neighbor, the University of Virginia; and its Workforce Development Programs serving local employers. We are seeking to identify qualified and interested adjunct faculty members in the following teaching disciplines and/or subject areas:
MATHEMATICS
If you are interested in a unique challenge, PVCC will expand credit course offerings in Mathematics for incarcerated students at Fluvanna Correctional Center, Buckingham Correctional Center, and Dillwyn Correctional Center. Special Assignments May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor. KSA's/Required Qualifications The successful candidate will possess expert skills, knowledge, experience and education in the subject area and a history of successful teaching or related experience. Minimum Education Required
  • Master's degree in Mathematics or a related field with 18 graduate hours in Mathematics to teach credit-level coursework Additional Considerations Two years teaching experience, work experience in the field, and experience with on-line teaching.
