Tue Sep 29 2026 City University of Seattle's School of Education and Leadership is seeking an experienced educational leader for course ECU 601- Capstone Project in our MEd in Curriculum and Instruction program. This capstone course gives students the opportunity to apply what they have learned throughout the program to an authentic problem of practice in their school or classroom. Students identify an important educational challenge, explore relevant research, develop a focused research question, and use evidence and data to better understand the issue and inform practical recommendations for improving educational practice. As an Associate Faculty member, you will guide students through this applied research process, helping them connect their professional experience with scholarly research and evidence. You will support students as they refine their problems of practice, develop appropriate research questions and methodologies, synthesize existing research, interpret data, and translate their findings into meaningful recommendations for their educational settings. In this course, students will: Identify and clearly describe a problem of practice within a school or classroom setting Develop appropriately scoped research questions to explore their problem of practice Locate, evaluate, and synthesize existing research into a literature review Select appropriate research designs, methodologies, and methods Analyze and interpret data and research findings Develop evidence-informed recommendations for addressing a problem of practice and improving educational practice What We're Looking For We are looking for an experienced educator who can help graduate students bridge research and practice and who understands the realities of conducting applied inquiry in K-12 educational settings.
Job Requirements:
Required qualifications: Master's degree in Education or a closely related field Experience as a K-12 classroom teacher, instructional coach, and/or school-level educational leader Experience applying research, data, or evidence to inform educational practice Preferred qualifications: Experience teaching, mentoring, or advising graduate students Experience supporting educators with action research, practitioner inquiry, or other applied research Familiarity with research design, qualitative and/or quantitative research methods, and data analysis Experience teaching or facilitating learning in an online or hybrid environment

Salary Information:
Associate Faculty compensation ranges from $500 to $4,600 per course assigned. Compensation varies based on factors including course level (undergraduate or graduate), number of course credits, and enrollment.
