Full-Time About the Role We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Head Start Preschool Teacher to join our early childhood education team. In this role, you will lead a vibrant classroom of children aged 3 to 5, implementing a developmentally appropriate, anti-bias curriculum that aligns with Head Start Performance Standards and district policies. You will work closely with families, instructional assistants, and support staff to foster an inclusive, safe, and nurturing learning environment.

Key Responsibilities Instruction & Classroom Management:

Design and implement a multicultural, developmentally appropriate curriculum based on individual and group needs. Arrange and maintain a safe, healthy, and engaging physical learning environment. Lead daily outdoor play and structured physical activities. Oversee and document ongoing developmental assessments and establish individual goals for each child.

Family Engagement & Community Outreach:

Conduct a minimum of two (2) home visits and two (2) parent-teacher conferences per family each academic year. Plan and attend parent meetings, maintaining strong relationships to encourage meaningful participation. Conduct monthly reviews with families alongside the caseworker to address health and social service needs. Translate written materials for non-English speaking families as needed.

Supervision & Team Leadership:

Directly supervise, guide, and evaluate the classroom Instructional Assistant. Supervise students, classroom volunteers, parents, and chaperones. Collaborate daily with support staff, service providers, and IEP team members for children with special needs.

Compliance & Administration:

Maintain precise documentation for Head Start Performance Standards and district health/safety regulations. Manage classroom supply budgets, submit timely purchase requests, and participate in annual program assessments.

Required Qualifications & Credentials Education:

Bachelor's or advanced degree in Early Childhood Education.

Certifications:

Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate in Early Childhood (or with an Early Childhood Endorsement). Structured English Immersion (SEI) endorsement. Valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card. Current CPR, First Aid, Food Handler's Certificate, TB test, and required immunizations.

Basic Requirements:

Age 21+ with authorization to work in the United States.

Transportation:

Valid driver's license, reliable insured vehicle, and a clean driving record for work-related duties. Preferred Skills & Attributes Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English (highly preferred). Strong technology skills for instructional planning, assessment tracking, and daily communication. Outstanding communication, organization, and stress-management abilities. Demonstrated ability to build empathetic, positive relationships with diverse and low-income families. Physical & Environmental Requirements Ability to regularly stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift/move up to 30 lbs. Comfortable working in classroom and outdoor playground environments with moderate noise levels.

Pay:

$47,000.00 - $59,058.84 per year
