While martial arts is an important part of our school, you do not need any martial arts experience for this position. Our after-school program is much broader and is built around: Movement Creativity Fun Kids spend their afternoons participating in a wide variety of activities, including Active games and movement Mixed-media art and creative projects Martial arts Yoga Mindfulness and meditation Social time and free play Group activities Light homework help We're looking for people who genuinely enjoy working with children and can help create a positive, active, fun, and supportive environment. Who We're Looking For We care most about personality, judgment, reliability, and your ability to connect with kids. Relevant experience can come from many different places, including: Summer camps or camp leader roles Coaching or youth sports Art, dance, theater, or creative programs Yoga or movement-based programs Tutoring or mentoring Community or volunteer programs Childcare or babysitting After-school or youth programs Martial arts Other paid or volunteer experience working with children Your experience with kids does not need to have come from a formal job. Volunteer work, community involvement, coaching, camps, mentoring, and other hands-on experience are all considered. We're especially interested in people who are: Friendly, positive, and comfortable around children Reliable and responsible Engaged and proactive Able to use good judgment Comfortable helping lead activities, games, projects, and group time Flexible and able to adapt to different activities and different groups of kids Interested in contributing their own skills, interests, or creativity to the program Schedule Most regular work takes place on weekday afternoons.
We have:
Part-time opportunities Opportunities for up to 5 days per week Some flexibility in exact days and hours depending on your availability and the needs of the program There are also opportunities for additional full-day hours during school holiday breaks, when we operate day camps from 8:00 AM-6:00 PM. Camps run during many school breaks, excluding major holidays themselves. Camp shifts are an opportunity for staff who want additional hours and are not required for every after-school team member. Pay $23
  • 27 per hour, depending on experience, skills, reliability, and overall fit.
