Job Description

Extended Day & Camp Instructor Kids Connection | Part-Time | School Year & Summer Kids Connection is seeking caring, energetic, and enthusiastic Extended Day & Camp Instructors to join our team! This position creates a safe, engaging, and joyful environment where elementary-aged children can learn, play, and grow through enriching activities, games, projects, and positive relationships. Whether during our after-school Extended Day Program or our exciting Summer Camps, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working alongside a collaborative and supportive team.
Responsibilities include:
Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate activities, games, and projects. Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all students. Supervise students during indoor and outdoor activities, lunch, snack, and recess. Foster students' social, emotional, and personal growth through positive relationships. Use positive behavior management strategies and support students with a variety of learning needs. Communicate professionally with families, coworkers, and supervisors. Follow all health, safety, and emergency procedures. Assist with school operations, including lunch supervision, student transportation from nearby schools (when assigned), front office support, and special events. Help prepare, organize, and clean activity spaces and materials.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or GED preferred. College coursework in Education or Child Development is a plus. Previous experience working with children in a school, camp, or childcare setting is preferred, but not required. Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills. Passion for working with elementary-aged children in a fun, active environment. Pediatric CPR certification (or willingness to obtain through Kids Connection) and successful background clearance required.
Schedule:
School Year (September-Early June)
Extended Day Program:
Monday-Friday Program hours: 11:00 AM-6:00 PM Up to 6-hour shifts (maximum 25 hours per week) Summer (Mid-June-August) Monday-Friday Program hours: 7:30 AM-6:00 PM 7-8 hour shifts with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break Applicants must be available for at least two consecutive months during the summer camp season.
