Part-time afterschool program instructor CompuChild of LGS Los Gatos, CA Job Details Part-time $28 - $32 an hour 14 hours ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications CPR Certification English High school diploma or GED Experience working with children Working with students Elementary school teaching experience Experience working with elementary school students Business Full Job Description Job Summary CompuChild is seeking enthusiastic and dependable Part-Time Instructors to deliver engaging, hands-on enrichment classes in technology, entrepreneurship, and business education to elementary school students. Instructors lead interactive lessons in subjects including Robotics, Lego, Engineering, Animation, Speech & Debate, Technology, and Business/Finance. All curriculum and equipment are provided—no advanced programming experience is required. Classes are typically 60-90 minutes long and are held after school at partner elementary schools. Half-day camp opportunities may also be available during the Thanks Giving and December break. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with young learners and want to build valuable classroom management and public speaking skills while earning supplemental income on a flexible schedule. Duties Deliver interactive, technology-focused enrichment lessons aligned with the CompuChild curriculum in assigned subject areas Create and maintain a positive, safe, and organized classroom environment that supports student engagement and learning Prepare, set up, and organize all teaching materials and equipment prior to each class session Communicate effectively and professionally with students, parents, school staff, and CompuChild leadership Attend all required training sessions, team meetings, and professional development opportunities Utilize basic computer tools and classroom technology as part of lesson delivery Requirements High school diploma or GED Excellent verbal communication skills and confident classroom presence Ability to engage and manage groups of elementary-aged children (grades K-6) Reliable personal transportation to travel to assigned school locations Must pass fingerprinting, TB testing, and a comprehensive background check Legally authorized to work in the United States Flexibility to work part-time hours during afternoons on weekdays, with occasional participation in special events or training sessions.
