After-School Program Instructor Harmony Tree Learning Center Monterey Park, CA Job Details Part-time $22•$26 an hour 2 hours ago Qualifications Bachelor's degree Working with students Teaching Full Job Description After-School Instructor / Teacher (Part-Time) Harmony Tree Learning Center | Monterey Park, CA | Part-Time, Monday-Friday Harmony Tree Learning Center is growing our after-school team, and we're looking for caring, reliable instructors who want to make a real difference in kids' school days — helping them push through a tough homework packet, catch a math concept that finally clicks, and leave each afternoon feeling proud of what they got done. About Harmony Tree Learning Center Harmony Tree Learning Center is a Monterey Park after-school program that supports TK-8th-grade students with homework help, academic practice, and a safe, structured place to spend their afternoons. Our instructors work closely with the same students day after day, building the kind of trust that helps kids actually want to do the work in front of them. About the Role As an Instructor/Teacher, you'll lead a group of students through their daily homework and center-provided math and English packets—helping them complete the work, correcting it with them, and keeping a clear record of how they're doing. TK and Kindergarten instructors also plan and lead arts-and-crafts activities. You'll get to know your students well enough to notice when a concept isn't sticking or when a behavior pattern needs attention and to put that into writing every two weeks. What You'll Do Supervise and support a group of TK-8th grade students during daily homework and academic time Guide students through center-provided math and English packets—assisting with completion and corrections Track each student's daily behavior and academic progress Complete bi-weekly written progress reports on student behavior and packet completion Plan and lead arts and crafts activities (TK/Kindergarten instructors) Maintain a safe, structured, and encouraging classroom environment
What We're Looking For Required:
Current college student or college graduate Degree or coursework in Education, Child Development, Liberal Studies, Psychology, or a related field Experience working with elementary or middle school students Available Monday-Friday during program hours Ability to pass a background check, TB clearance, and fingerprinting, as required for California childcare positions
Preferred:
Prior experience in an after-school, tutoring, or childcare setting CPR/First Aid certification Schedule Monday•Friday during the school year.
Hours vary by grade level:
TK & Kindergarten:
1:30 PM•5:30 PM 1st•3rd
Grade:
2:00 PM•5:30 PM 4th•8th
Grade:
