The Afterschool Instructor will be responsible for supervising students, facilitating educational and recreational activities, and promoting positive behavior. Candidates with experience in early childhood education, childcare, tutoring, sports coaching, theater, or camp leadership are encouraged to apply. Duties Supervise and ensure the safety of children during afterschool hours Plan and implement engaging educational activities that promote learning and development Manage classroom behavior using effective behavior management techniques Support students with homework assistance and tutoring as needed Lead recreational activities such as sports, arts, theater, or other enrichment programs Foster a positive environment that encourages social skills, teamwork, and self-confidence Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and concerns Maintain a clean and organized activity space in compliance with safety standards Assist with special needs accommodations and support inclusive classroom practices Follow all safety protocols including first aid procedures when necessary Requirements Experience working with children in settings such as daycare, preschool, camp, tutoring, or childcare preferred Strong classroom management skills and ability to handle diverse student needs Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management strategies First aid certification or willingness to obtain certification upon hire Background in special education or experience working with students with special needs is a plus Excellent communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff Ability to create an inclusive environment that supports the emotional and social well-being of students Reliable transportation or access to transportation is preferred for program duties Join our team as an Afterschool Instructor to help shape the future of young learners through engaging activities, nurturing guidance, and dedicated support.
