Day shift, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-2:00pm window Start date: Mid-October 2026 Mad Science of San Diego is hiring energetic, part-time instructors to lead hands-on science workshops for elementary students during the school day. Our next program runs October 2026 - May 2027, with potential for additional Mad Science programs afterward. No science background required — we train you and supply everything you need.

WHY YOU'LL LOVE IT

$25 per 1-hour class, plus a paid $25 setup/teardown block each day Teach 2-4 back-to-back 45-minute workshops per day — many instructors earn $75-$125 per day Paid, hands-on training — no science degree needed, we teach you the content All materials, curriculum, and a Mad Science lab coat provided School staff assist with classroom management Flexible daytime schedule: work 3 to 5 days per week, 8:00am-2:00pm window Paid drive time beyond 30 minutes Meaningful work that inspires the next generation of scientists

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Lead fun, interactive 45-minute STEM workshops for elementary students (grades vary by program) Deliver our established curriculum accurately, consistently, and enthusiastically Run hands-on experiments and activities in every class Keep students engaged in a positive, well-managed classroom Complete brief attendance, program, and outcome reporting Communicate professionally with teachers and school staff Travel to assigned schools in San Diego and Santee

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

Experience working with groups of elementary-age children — teaching, tutoring, camps, enrichment programs, museums, recreation, or similar Comfort leading a classroom independently and following a structured lesson Dependability, organization, and positive energy Reliable personal transportation and a valid driver's license Availability at least 3 days per week between 8:00am and 2:00pm
