Job Description

Sacred Heart School, a Catholic co-educational pre-kindergarten to eighth grade parochial school, is seeking a part-time or full-time Middle School Language Arts teacher for the upcoming 2026-27 school year. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to Catholic education, a love for teaching children, and the ability to create an engaging learning environment.
Specific Responsibilities:
Teach middle school Language Arts classes, including reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and literature. Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the needs of a range of learners. Develop students' reading comprehension, critical thinking, writing, and communication skills. Select and teach age-appropriate literature and other texts. Establish and maintain a positive, structured classroom environment. Communicate regularly with parents and families regarding student progress and concerns. Collaborate with other middle school teachers to support students and maintain consistency across the grade levels. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, school events, and other activities of the school community. Support the Catholic mission and values of Sacred Heart School and incorporate faith appropriately into the classroom.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field. Master's degree preferred. Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
