QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education Hold or be eligible for State of DE Certification (ESOL and in any content area) Minimum of 2 years of successful experience teaching K-12 or adult learners Strong written/oral communication and organizational skills Demonstrated competency in classroom teaching Proficient in the use of technology; specifically
Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Suite Salary :
$35.00/hr.
Hours of Employment:
4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Position Description:
Applicants for the Instructor position within the Adult Education program must prepare lessons for adult students whose first language may not be English (ESL). All candidates must have the ability to a manage classroom of students with different instructional level. All candidates should be proficient with technology and have the ability to integrate into teaching. The applicant must be willing and able to work non-traditional hours in schools and/or community settings.
Responsibilities:
The following list is not intended as, nor should it be construed as, exhaustive of all responsibilities, skills or working conditions associated with this position. Responsibilities may include any or all of the following: Teaching students in assigned subject area(s) with an emphasis on reasoning and problem solving in a hybrid and/or virtual learning environment. Prepares instruction and activities using the program's curriculum to assigned classes and shows evidence of preparation upon request of the supervisors. Deliver prepared lessons for adult learners in accordance with the State of Delaware Adult Education curriculum. Instruct students individually and/or in groups using various teaching methods, and the Delaware Adult Basic Education state curricula. Knowledge and use of techniques appropriate for adult learners. Administer Pre-Post-assessment to students and interpret results to students in order to establish short and long term goals. Use data to monitor and manage student learning and performance. Complete Weekly/Monthly data collection and reports. Attend staff meetings and state and local sponsored professional development activities periodically. Refer adult learners with challenging life issues to appropriate resources. Contact students with excessive absences Performs other duties as assigned by the administration in accordance with program's policies and practices.
