The teacher is expected to understand and demonstrate the use of the school's curriculum, instructional resources, student assessment data, and technology-based learning tools to maximize academic achievement for all students. The Middle School Technology Teacher will create a safe, respectful, and engaging learning environment where students develop digital literacy, problem-solving skills, creativity, collaboration, and responsible technology use. The teacher will be responsible for implementing creative, hands-on lessons that support multiple learning styles and prepare students to use technology effectively in academic and real-world settings. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging middle school technology lessons aligned to Florida standards and school curriculum expectations. Teach students foundational and advanced technology skills, which may include digital literacy, keyboarding, coding, robotics, artificial intelligence, 3D printing, digital design, productivity tools, research skills, online safety, and responsible digital citizenship. Develop lessons that support creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and problem-solving. Use a variety of instructional strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners and address multiple intelligences. Integrate hands-on projects, technology applications, and real-world learning experiences into daily instruction. Monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments, classwork, projects, performance tasks, and student demonstrations. Use assessment data to adjust instruction and provide intervention, enrichment, and additional support as needed. Maintain a classroom environment that is safe, structured, respectful, and conducive to learning. Establish and reinforce clear expectations for technology use, equipment care, classroom behavior, and digital responsibility. Collaborate with school leadership, instructional staff, and colleagues to support schoolwide academic goals and student success. Maintain accurate records of lesson plans, grades, attendance, student progress, and required documentation. Communicate professionally with students, families, administration, and staff regarding student progress and classroom expectations. Support school initiatives, technology-related projects, and student learning opportunities as assigned. Ensure that students use school technology, devices, platforms, and materials appropriately and responsibly. Perform other duties as assigned by school administration. Qualifications Valid Florida Teaching Certificate or Florida Department of Education Statement of Eligibility required. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required. Experience teaching middle school students preferred. Experience with technology instruction, coding, digital tools, robotics, 3D printing, or project-based learning preferred. Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills required. Ability to design engaging lessons that meet the needs of diverse learners. Ability to work collaboratively in a charter school environment. Preferred Skills and Experience Knowledge of Florida technology, computer science, or career and technical education standards. Experience using instructional technology platforms and digital learning tools. Familiarity with coding programs, robotics, AI tools, digital design software, or 3D printing.
